Ercan - President
Ercan is a seasoned strategy consultant and business leader with a proven track record of driving innovation, growth, and operational excellence across diverse industries. With deep expertise in strategic planning, organizational transformation, and leveraging emerging technologies, Ercan helps businesses navigate complex challenges and unlock new opportunities.
Passionate about creating lasting impact, Ercan combines analytical rigor with a collaborative approach to design tailored solutions that deliver measurable results. His work spans strategic foresight, process optimization, and fostering resilience in ever-evolving market landscapes.
Hazal - Vice-President
Hazal (H) Uzunkaya is a technologist specializing in design and extended reality. Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, she has previously worked as a translator for Asahi Shimbun in conflict zones across Turkey before completing her degree in neuroscience. Passionate about leveraging technology to share experiences, H has collaborated on creating immersive environments for researchers, students, and private organizations. Currently, she serves as the Director of Life ExperiencED Foundation, where she brings virtual reality to special education schools, helping students with cognitive or developmental disabilities practice common interactions. In her free time, she enjoys skiing and taking her dogs on adventures.
Nezih - Treasurer
Nezih Üzümcüoğlu has worked in finance, sales, and marketing departments at top FMCG companies such as L'Oreal, Henkel, and Danone. He has delivered lectures at 18 universities and contributed to entrepreneurial ventures in education, tourism, and technology.
After completing an MBA program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, Nezih shifted his focus to entrepreneurship. As a PMI-certified project manager and mentor for startups, he is passionate about sustainable business models and fostering U.S.-Turkey collaborations.
Burak - Community Engagement Coordinator
Dr. Demirel is a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University specializing in deep learning applications for cardiac MRI. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, focusing on physics-guided deep learning for high-resolution MRI.
Dr. Demirel's achievements include an American Heart Association Fellowship for his research on rapid high-resolution whole-heart perfusion MRI. In his free time, he enjoys biking and hiking.
Yagmur - Secretary
Yagmur Kan is a scientist with a strong academic background in molecular and cellular biology. Originally from Istanbul, she earned a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Stony Brook University and a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Bilkent University. Throughout her career, Yagmur has been driven by a passion for scientific innovation, particularly in the field of oncology. She currently works as a Senior Scientist in the biotech industry, where her expertise contributes to advancements in cancer research and therapeutic development. As an ad-hoc contributor to Herkese Bilim Teknoloji, a leading popular science magazine in Turkey, Yagmur shares her insights and expertise to engage readers in scientific discussions and promote public understanding of science. In addition to her scientific endeavors, Yagmur is deeply committed to community engagement and volunteerism. She serves as the Young Adult Volunteer Engagement Coordinator for the AFS-USA Mass Bay Area Team, where she organizes events, supports returnees and young adults, and fosters a strong sense of community among volunteers. Beyond her professional and volunteer commitments, Yagmur is a member of the Board of Trustees for the TED Istanbul College Foundation. In this role, she contributes her decision-making expertise to advance the Foundation's mission and initiatives.
Ceren - Marketing Coordinator
Ceren Barut is a multifaceted professional with expertise spanning energy engineering, chemistry, social media management, and event planning. Holding a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering and a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Ceren combines her technical expertise with creative acumen as a content creator and strategist for brands like Alchemist Kitchen, Celebrate&Co, and odtumetu_usa. As the Marketing Coordinator for Turkish Hub, Ceren leverages her deep understanding of digital platforms to connect and empower Turkish professionals across New England. Her dedication to fostering community and innovation is complemented by her entrepreneurial spirit, showcased in ventures like her role as an event planner and designer. Beyond her professional achievements, Ceren is a devoted mother who actively curates engaging educational experiences for her daughter, Linda. In her free time, she enjoys creating meaningful content, exploring new ideas, and contributing to the growth of vibrant communities
Arda - Technology Coordinator
Arda is the Technology Coordinator for Turkish Hub, managing the organization's website and digital infrastructure. With a strong focus on innovation, Arda ensures the smooth operation of Turkish Hub’s online presence. He runs a highly adaptive cybersecurity services company in Boston, providing cutting-edge solutions to clients across various industries.
